Roastar Packaging

We had the great fortune of partnering with Roastar, a packaging company out of Wausau, WI who provides custom printed pouches, bags, and tins to segments ranging from coffee, candy, snacks, pet food, spices, and much more.

This partnership is the result of an effort to join Roastar’s talented Designer Network, a library of the best designers from around the country whose focus falls within the aforementioned segments. Having only worked in the world of coffee a few times, I saw this as a welcome challenge to flex a muscle normally reserved for beer, wine and spirits.

The goal of the project put before me was to develop a coffee brand that would showcase Fat Basset’s knowledge of design, brand development and segment comfort, along with the ability to set the final design files up for print production. There was no name and no brief, just get to work on a fictional coffee brand (they were much nicer than this, and so incredibly accommodating but you don’t want to read about all the back and forth).

The end result were two brands - Canny Riser and Gusto Roasters - we thought would stand out on shelf, attracting consumers and making mornings an event to look forward to.
